Farewell, Toys R Us.
Toys R Us. The place that made booboos better. The place we went to to get "Christmas present ideas." The place we went to just play. My mom and dad would tell me, "We'll go get a prize from Toys R Us afterward," when I had to go to the doctor's office for some reason or another. Toys R Us isn't just a toy store to me, it is part of my childhood. Now that I'm a mom, this was the place I took my girls to make booboos feel better, get Christmas present ideas, and to just play.
There is something so magical as a child walking into a GIGANTIC store filled top to bottom with toys. Okay, it's pretty magical for adults like myself too. I won't be lying when I say I'm pretty bummed about Toys R Us shutting its doors. Nostalgia hits me every time I walk through the doors. It's easy to feel like a kid again.
I took my girls to the magical land of toys and just let them roam. They soaked it all in. I followed them around with my camera like I almost always do.
My fifteen-year-old sister thinks I'm slightly crazy for being this emotional over it, but I know I can't be the only one.
